Flat run down through Orem heading south. Paul, Larry, and Wayne ran at 6:30am. Overall pace was 8:20 +/-. Last 3 miles, Paul and I picked up the pace to sub 8s finishing close to a 7 minute pace. Overall felt quite good for not having trained much in the last 4 weeks.

Got out and didn't see Larry or Paul. Ran about 5 miles solo at about an 8 minute pace. Felt pretty good, tho' I was a bit cold since I was anticipating warmer temps. I was dressed in shorts and t-shirt. Temperature was about 30 degrees.

Neither Larry nor Paul showed this morning. Ran through Orem along 4oo East and came back along Main. I was better prepared for the cold and had my ipod helping me along. Ran about an 8:20 pace and didn't feel good nor bad, just tired from not enough sleep. I hope to get an additional run in this evening but the prospects aren't looking too good.

I did a 12+ mile run with Kevin and Wayne this morning. Larry had a chest cold but still came out and ran a few miles with us and then turned back. We headed south through Orem, over to University Ave, south to the country club, then back north up University Ave to Orem 800 North then back up through Orem to home.

We ran the 12.25 miles in 1:43:20 (8:27/mi). We started out at about a 9:15/mi pace, ran most of the run right around 8:30/mi, then finished with 1.5 miles at about 8:00/mi and then the final mile at 7:18/mi.

I was having a hard time hanging with Paul and Wayne the last few miles. I attribute that to two things: lack of miles and lack of GU and Gatorade.

Paul didn'Thx - Kevin show at 7:30am as we had agreed and due to the actively falling snow/slush, I did not feel like running outside solo. Decided to go to BYU but didn't make it over till around 8:25. Ran 4 miles at 7:50 pace at the BYU track. I had planned on running 8 miles but was kicked off the track at 9am by the BYU track team.

The traffic was light probably due to Pres. Day holiday

Maybe I can pick up a few miles later in the day with my girls.

Got out with Paul and we ran through Orem for a little over 6 miles. Our pace started slow. It picked up a little the last couple of miles, but neither of us felt very fast this morning. We averaged 8:17/mi overall, warming up a mile or so at around an 8:50 pace, averaging around 8:20 for most of the run, and ending at 7:36/mi.

Felt pretty good throughout, though the first two miles were tough as I was waking up. Got to bed at 1am and 5:30am comes early.

Got out on the mountain bike with Mark and his son, Matt for a night time ride with headlamps. We went up Dry Creek and over above the watertowers continuing up Provo Canyon until the mud got too thick and gooey. Was out for nearly two hours. Pace was rather brisk as there were a lot of hills and we were traveling at a pretty good pace. I imagine that this ride is easily the equivalent of 8 miles of hill running and I have added to my "running" total for today.

Ran with Larry and Wayne. Temps were in the low 20s. Ran along th canal into PG and then ran up to Battlecreek. We meandered down to Lindon City Park and then south to 12th North before heading out to the Cemetary Fields. Larry only wanted to run 6-7 miles, but Wayne and I talked him into almost 11. The pace was an easy 9 min per mile and it felt good.

In the morning I ran the normal Orem 400 E course with Paul. The weather phone said it was 21 degrees and I dressed well for that temperature. I was fine while we headed south. As soon as we turned back north, however, we realized that we had been running with a tailwind which was now a very cold headwind. My face got pretty cold (numb) but the rest of me was okay.

We took a few detours this morning. First we took a minor detour at 400 S when we headed west to go over to Main St. to go back north. We both were thinking we were on 400 N. 400 S does not intersect with Main St. When we saw State St. approaching we turned back and went north on 400 E as usual. At 800 N, we did go west to Main St. and stopped at Gold's Gym so I could use their bathroom. There sure seemed to be a lot of people there on the treadmills, etc. We then crossed over 800 N and made our way around the construction to get onto Main St. and head home. We ended up doing about 6.7 miles @ 8:23/mi. The first mile was @ 8:37/mi and the last mile was @ 7:45/mi.
